Review Self Portraits Assignment
August Assignment - Motion Blur
Capture a sense of motion by any means possible. Panning, zooming, time exposures, slow shutter speeds, etc. This is a good creative control technique to have in your bag of tricks. Please, no Photoshop motion blur effects for this assignment.
My visit with Ansel Adams in 1982 and what he taught me about photography - by Chuck Knowles
In 1982, during spring break of my senior year in high school, my best friend and I set off for Carmel California to meet our idol in photography, the great Ansel Adams. Ansel Adams and his wife welcomed us into their home, and gave us the tour of a lifetime. Ansel brought his images that we had only seen in books, to life. He shared the art of visualization, and reminded us that a picture is three dimensional until you capture the image on film. To this day, I can feel his teachings every time I wait for a drifting cloud to arrive.
