Focus stacking with Helicon Software

Have you ever been frustrated after a photo trip when you find that the rock in the foreground is out of focus and the mountains are sharp? Or you nailed the focus on a field of flowers but the hills in the background are out of focus? Then you shoot with a higher aperture, maybe closed all the way down, and then you find that everything is soft?

There are a several options on the marked that allows Focus Stacking processing. I have tried many of them, Helicon is what I have found to easiest, quickest, and has the best healing or retouching brushes out there.

This month I am going to discuss a little about Focus stacking and demonstrate the software. I hope by the end of the presentation that everyone is motivated to try focus stacking whether with Helicon or something else.

David Swindler will be giving our presentation

David will begin the presentation with a short slideshow of some of my favorite images from the last year. Next, he’ll talk about how things are going with the tours business. Finally, he’ll go over some of the images that are particularly instructive and give some photo tips and post-processing advice in Lightroom.
