Agenda May 14th 2015 Micron Photo Club

This month's assignment "Complementary Colors"

Complementary Colors lie opposite each other on the color wheel. These colors always go well with each other, hence the term complementary. Some of the most popular color schemes are based on color complements.

Review April's assignment "Spring"

This months presentation given by Steele Stone

Steele Stone, with 3D Possibilities, is going to present a new way to showcase photos using the new technology, 3D printing. The final product is called a Lithophane which is a 3D representation of an image that can only be seen clearly with a back light source behind it. The original image is converted to a gray-scale representation where it is then converted to a calculated 3D printed height allowing a specific amount of light to shine through. Darker colors are printed thicker blocking more light, and the opposite relationship stands for lighter pixels. Each pixel in the image undergoes this process and a very unique art piece is created. Steele plans on discussing the basic principles behind the creation of these products along with future possibilities. He will be hoping for some input and interesting ideas to offer a broader portfolio for these products with different backlighting techniques. He will also discuss  price points to order some of them. For any inquiries or questions about this products please contact s.stone@3d-possibilities.com.
