December Assignment "How I spend my Holiday Time Off"
We all get to help partake in the Holiday slowdown by taking a little time off. We thought it would be fine to turn that into an assignment.

This Months Presentation Anna Gorin is a freelance portrait and wedding photographer

Anna Gorin is a freelance portrait and wedding photographer who never quite managed to commit to just one subject matter and has always delighted in landscape and travel photography on the side.  Through her work as a contributor to Getty Images for the past seven years, she has been featured on over 30 book covers, several Lonely Planet travel guides, and a National Geographic catalog cover.  When she's not running back and forth between Kathryn Albertson Park and the Boise Depot (and the occasional other locations, thank goodness) on assignment on portrait shoots, she can be found buried under mounds of editing or hauling way too much camera gear (Canon, but is willing to befriend Nikon users nonetheless) up a mountain to get the perfect epic shot.

Review October Assignment "Fall Color"

November Assignment " Emulate your favorite Photograph/Photographer"
Fine and image or style you like in photography and try to mimic it, not an exact copy. For instance if your favorite photographer is Edward Western, take some pictures of Bell Peppers.

This Months Presentation  Chase Hunter Faroe Islands and Iceland

Chase was born and raised in Boise where early on he developed an interest in exploring all of Idaho’s natural beauty from the Owyhees to the Sawtooths. During his college years pursuing his Bachelor’s degree at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Chase got the opportunity to live and work in a variety of places including Colorado, Portland, and Wales as part of his internships and studying abroad. Such experiences helped further invigorate an interest in seeing all of the world’s most beautiful locations. Upon starting work at Micron in 2017 and with his first Micron paycheck, Chase purchased his first DSLR (a Canon Rebel T6i) that he still uses to this day. Since buying his camera, he has been actively working to enhance his photography skills and refined his focus to the field of landscape photography. While Chase finds himself most often photographing the mountainous landscapes of the Western US, he still finds great passion in going on one or two international photography trips a year to countries of significant natural beauty. In recent years, Chase has had a particular affinity for Nordic landscapes, leading him on photography journeys through the rugged landscapes of places like the Faroe Islands and Iceland.

This is a link to Chase's presentation.

October Assignment "Fall Color"
Yes it is that time of year again. The leaves will start changing color here in the valley soon. To help with this assignment we will be scheduling a Photo Walk later in the month.

This months presentation

Glen will be sharing ideas on different methods of backing up your image and files, along with some key wording techniques to help find images in year to come.

The question has come up on many occasions; where can I save all of files, back them up, and be able to find them again later? How can I be safe if I loose a hard drive? will I loose all of the data stored on that? How can I be safe?! Glen will address some of these issues. Might even be sprinkled with some Lightroom techniques too.

Plil Morrow from Whole Brain Photo

                                 https://wholebrainphoto.com/

The company started when Phil saw a need for a camera rental business in the Treasure Valley. There was nowhere in town to rent a flash, lens, camera or even get a photography lesson! Phil thought to himself, “I’m tired of saying no [to potential customers].” So, he took his idea and started to figure out a way to rent equipment to local photographers and filmmakers in the Boise, Idaho area. As a photographer and collector of digital and film camera equipment, Phil had quite the selection of lenses and camera bodies. He also had a good idea of what potential customers would be interested in renting, so he invested in two full-frame cameras and then made a large purchase of lenses.

Review March assignment "Black & White"

April's photography assignment "Flowers"

This month's presentation will be by Scott Marchant

While attending college in Nevada, I discovered my passion with the high mountains and natural world. I have lived in Idaho since 2003, and founded Hiking Idaho in 2008 while residing in Stanley.

The mission of Hiking Idaho is simple – to research, write and publish the finest Idaho hiking guidebooks in order to provide fellow hikers with accurate and inspiring backcountry information.

In the last several years, I have hiked thousands of miles and published five hiking guidebooks for central and south Idaho.

I hike each mile on every hike in the Hiking Idaho guidebooks. One of the great rewards of traveling all of the routes is that I can learn the landscape intimately – what makes one canyon or mountain different from another, and how they may be similar. As a result, readers will find descriptions of topography, vegetation, scenery and wildlife, all based on experience.

My hope is that others will see these remarkable places and come to understand the perspective that our natural world provides, then help to preserve and protect out public lands.
