Ceredig Roberts was born in Aberystwyth, Wales, UK and spent
his youth enjoying the welsh wilderness and playing soccer. He then left Wales for Oxford University to
study Physics and Materials Science receiving an M.A. and a D. Phil. After
working in the Semiconductor Industry in the U.K. for 5 years he moved to
Boise, Idaho to work for Micron Technology. Most recently he was a Senior
Technical Director responsible for new memory technology developments. Ceredig
retired in 2019 and can now focus on his passion for photographing the wildlife
of Idaho!
Ceredig will discuss how he goes about photographing the wildlife and in particular the birds of Idaho. He will describe what equipment and techniques that he uses, his favorite areas to visit and what species can be expected to be photographed at each location. He will also discuss what species one should expect to see at different times of the year, which ones visit for a few months and those that can be seen all year round. The presentation will include photographs of some well known Idaho birds as well as a few that can be tough to find and capture!
